After a pretty up and down first half, the ‘Cats settled down and found their rhythm in the second half, winning a hard-fought contest 34-24.Even with the inconsistencies, there were plenty of clutch plays and career performances to go around for Arizona. Read on the see who are AZ Desert Swarm’s Players of the Game.Offense: Tre Spivey, WRGame Stats: 7 rec, 129 yds, 2 TDSpivey had himself a career night on Saturday. He truly looked like the WR1 that he was thought to be at the beginning of the season. He was consistently open and did a solid job on his routes. He had one bad play where he dropped a ball in his hands at the beginning of the game, but he really settled in. He first touchdown on the crossing route was quite the effort. Over the past two weeks, Spivey has 13 catches for 219 yds and 3 scores.Defense: Mays Pese, DLGame Stats: 5 tackles, 1 TFLThis one took some thought, but I’m confident in the choice. Pese didn’t have the most eye-popping stat line. However, he made his presence felt in Pullman. His TFL after a gnarly spin move at the end of the first half, and in the red zone, was great. But that was just one example. Throughout the night, Pese worked his way past the offensive line and was in the offensive backfield for what seemed like more times than not. He was great against the run to boot. I’m sure Caden Pinnick is going to be very happy that he doesn’t have to face Pese the rest of the year.Special Teams: Tre Smith, DEGame Stats: 1 blocked FG; 1 FRSmith didn’t do too much on defense, which has been a theme so far this year, but he made probably the biggest play on special teams for the ‘Cats.
