​The Philadelphia Eagles entered their Week 3 matchup against the Chicago Bears as favorites. The Bears’ starting quarterback, Caleb Williams, was out with a hamstring injury, and backup quarterback Tyson Bagent wasn’t cleared from concussion protocol until the end of the weekend, leading to Case Keenum being named the starter.Keenum is in his 15th season in the NFL and has had a solid career, but he hasn’t appeared in a regular-season game since the 2023 season. However, the veteran came in prepared and played at a high level, completing 24 of 34 passes for 247 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions, while rushing for eight yards and a touchdown.Chicago controlled the game on both sides of the ball, leading to their dominant 27-7 win over Philadelphia. It was a sloppy performance for the Eagles all around, with 10 penalties and three turnovers. He did rush for 25 yards and a touchdown on four carries.Hurts briefly exited the game after he was hit late on the sideline and was evaluated for a concussion. While he was evaluated, Andy Dalton took over in the red zone. Dalton attempted only one pass, and it was intercepted, ending what was a promising drive by the Eagles.Saquon Barkley had some nice runs in the first half and finished the game with 82 yards on 15 carries, but as the game got out of hand, Philadelphia was forced to pass.The Eagles offense has plenty to clean up moving forward, but their defense wasn’t much better. Philadelphia didn’t put much pressure on Keenum, as they didn’t record a sack. They also could not force any turnovers, which allowed Chicago to march up and down the field.The Eagles won’t get an easy matchup in Week 4 as they look to bounce back, facing off against another Super Bowl hopeful, the Los Angeles Rams. Head coach Nick Sirianni and the coaching staff will need to get on the players for struggling mightily in a game they should’ve won, and they have plenty to improve upon if they want to be a contender in the 2026 season.
