The next closest is Bengals’ Joe Burrow with 89 yards.Herbert has 627 passing yards through the first three games. That’s an average of 209 yards per game. In the season, Herbert ranks 17th in total passing yards, with quarterbacks like Jets’ Geno Smith, Texans’ CJ Stroud, and Saints’ Tyler Shough ahead of him.If those 99 yards were completions, Herbert would be ranked 14th. Multiple Chargers pass catchers have failed to make the completions, including Quentin Johnston. Johnston had a costly drop in their Week 3 loss to the Bills.That’s just one of many examples this season. Herbert and the Chargers are off to their worst start since 2017.
