​The second Odell Beckham Jr. stint with the New York Giants has officially come to a close. After rejoining the team that drafted him No. 12 overall in the 2014 NFL Draft, Beckham made the 53-man roster but was used sparingly through the first three games. Now, they’ve opted to move on from the longtime fan favorite, leaving his NFL future up in the air.After the Giants’ decision to part ways with Beckham, John Harbaugh addressed the move, pointing the finger back at the team while admitting they couldn’t get him on the field enough.”Had a great conversation with Odell, and it’s tough, but we just weren’t getting enough,” Harbaugh said. “It just wasn’t working for us. And like I told him, I wanted to be able to get more. I wanted him to be able to do more. I wanted to get him on the field more. We just, for whatever reason, we weren’t able to do it; put it on us. We weren’t able to get it done. But at this point in time, that’s kinda where we were and we needed to move on.”The move came less than a week after offensive coordinator Matt Nagy vowed that Beckham wasn’t just a backup, despite his low snap count. After playing 16% of the Giants’ offensive snaps in Week 1, that number dropped to 5% in Week 2. While Beckham did see a slight bump back up to 9% of the offensive snaps in Week 3, it obviously wasn’t enough for him to be any type of factor.It remains to be seen what comes next for Beckham, or whether he’ll have another opportunity to continue his NFL career. While Beckham is 33, his last significant playing time came in 2023 with the Baltimore Ravens, when he caught 35 passes for 565 yards and three touchdowns.
