Bayern Munich will challenge Arsenal for La Liga midfielderFrenkie de Jong remains a player Barcelona could sell sooner than later, and securing regular playing time has become even more difficult for him following the arrival of Rodri. The Dutchman has been in Catalonia for almost ten years, and he has been linked with a move to Arsenal during almost every summer transfer window. The Gunners still regard De Jong as the type of midfielder who could transform their team, and the player may be open to moving to north London. However, Arsenal now face increased competition, with Fichajes reporting that Bayern Munich are the latest club to show serious interest in signing him.The Bavarians already have one of the strongest squads in Europe, but they remain determined to add further quality. De Jong is an outstanding midfielder, which explains why Bayern want him despite concerns over the stage of his career.Arsenal Face CompetitionArsenal have admired De Jong for a long time and could see him as an ideal addition to their midfield. His ability to control possession, progress the ball and dictate the tempo would give Mikel Arteta another high-quality option in the centre of the pitch. However, the Gunners may need to act quickly if Barcelona decide to sell. Bayern’s interest could raise the competition for his signature and make the transfer more expensive than Arsenal would initially expect.De Jong’s potential availability is also linked to Arsenal’s midfield situation. Martin Zubimendi is reportedly keen to leave the club in search of regular playing time, which could create space for another major signing.Frenkie de Jong (Getty Images)De Jong Could Move OnIf Zubimendi departs, Arsenal could view De Jong as an ideal replacement. The Dutchman has long been tipped to play in the Premier League, and a move to England could offer him a fresh challenge after years in Spain.Barcelona may eventually decide that selling him is the best way to reshape their squad, particularly if he continues to struggle for consistent opportunities. Should that happen, Arsenal and Bayern would be well placed to compete for his services. For Arsenal, signing De Jong could represent a major opportunity to strengthen their midfield. However, the Gunners must first resolve Zubimendi’s future and determine whether they are prepared to compete with Bayern for one of Europe’s most recognisable midfielders._____________________________________________________________________________________________ADMIN COMMENTSo here are some simple rules which I must insist commenters follow….You agree not to give any personal abuse to other Arsenal fans.
