Browns land an SEC defender in a new 2027 NFL Mock Draft

The 2027 NFL Draft will take place in Washington, D.C. next year. In that draft, the Browns still have their first-round pick, but a lot could happen in the next 8 months. Before then, though, there will be plenty of speculation and buildup about the team, and who they may add through the draft in a class many are calling one of generational wealth.Pro Football Network’s Jacob Infante recently released the latest 2027 NFL mock draft of the cycle, which has the team going with two players from the SEC. First, they land Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss with their first pick and Kentucky defensive lineman Tavion Gadson with their second one. The Chambliss pick is one we are starting to see more of, but the pick of Gadson is one that is new to us.Infante explains the Gadson pick, writing, “Among their current needs is a defensive tackle, as they could use another game-wrecker along the interior to pair with Mason Graham going forward. He wasn’t a full-time starter in college going into 2026, but even off the tape he showed last year, Tavion Gadson stood out for Kentucky’s defense. He made a splash by leading all Power 4 defensive tackles with a 16.9% pass-rush win rate in 2025, and he’s off to a strong start this season. He brings an intriguing combination of athleticism, length, and hand activity that can make him tough to block on passing downs.”Gadson sounds like a piece that could come in and be productive alongside Mason Graham. The team has some expiring contracts on their defensive front, so taking someone early makes sense. And if it is Gadson, then he seems to be a good fit based on the projection.
