​The former Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy is all set to make a new start with his new organization, the New York Giants, following the trade on Sept. 28.The Giants acquired the former first-round pick from the Minnesota Vikings. He said:“For whatever reason, did not work in Minnesota, but the kid’s, you know, 20-something, 21, 22 years old, and it’s a lot thrown at you. And so I think just a fresh start. I don’t know the game plan, but I don’t think he’s expected to come in and, “Hey, you’re gonna start playing right away.” You got Jameis Winston. Give him time. Hey, learn the system. Be around. Relax a little bit. And who knows? Just kind of a restart. I think there’s a chance, you know, he can make this a turnaround opportunity.”McCarthy led Michigan to a national championship before being selected No. 10 overall by Minnesota in the 2024 NFL Draft. However, things didn’t go the way the quarterback or the organization were expecting. The quarterback suffered a major setback when he had to miss his entire rookie season because of knee surgery.The trade has given the quarterback an opportunity to reboot his career and show what he is capable of.
