Colts rule starting wide receiver out for Week 4 game vs Commanders

By admin — In News — October 4, 2026

The Washington Commanders face the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. Washington will be without several starters, including starting quarterback Jayden Daniels. Top wide receiver Terry McLaurin is also likely to miss Sunday’s game. McLaurin popped up on Friday’s final injury report with a hamstring injury. While the Colts are the much healthier team heading into Sunday’s game, they are a bit thin at one position. Top wide receiver Alec Pierce injured his heel in a Week 2 loss at Kansas City and was placed on injured reserve. That means Pierce will miss at least four games. On Saturday, the Colts downgraded six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Keenan Allen from questionable to out with a groin injury. Allen is third on Indianapolis with 13 receptions and second with 100 receiving yards, and has one touchdown. He had his best game in last week’s win over Houston, recording nine catches for 63 yards and a touchdown. Allen had a day off on Wednesday, but popped up on Thursday’s injury report with a groin injury. He was listed as questionable on Friday’s final injury report. Josh Downs is Indianapolis’ top target in the passing game, alongside tight end Tyler Warren. The Commanders have struggled to cover tight ends, so Warren could be in for a big game. Slayton has faced Washington for years while with the New York Jets alongside Colts quarterback Daniel Jones.
