The Seahawks elevated Diggs on Saturday, more than a month after he initially joined the organization. Seattle’s official website noted that the veteran had started 64 of his first 67 NFL games before arriving in the Pacific Northwest.The unusual arrangement required patience.Diggs signed with Seattle on Aug. 19 but arrived late enough in the preseason that the organization wanted to give him time to learn Macdonald’s defense and regain his football conditioning. He played three series in the preseason finale against the Kansas City Chiefs and intercepted a pass, then was released during final cuts before returning on the practice squad.General manager John Schneider said after roster cutdowns that Diggs was still “getting ramped up,” while the veteran himself acknowledged he needed additional time to become comfortable with the scheme.The process stretched through September before Seattle finally gave him a regular-season opportunity.That makes Macdonald’s postgame comments significant.
