The Washington Commanders flew home from London after their 30-13 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, without a bye week in its near future despite the international contest. It was a somber flight as the team fell to 1-3, in another game finished by a backup QB. This time is was 7th-round rookie Athan Kaliakmanis filling in for Marcus Mariota who suffered another MCL sprain in the first quarter.Quinn said the Commanders plan to give franchise quarterback a full week of practice and to have him start the Week 5 contest against the New York Giants, a formal return after suffering a dislocated left elbow during Week 2 at Dallas. Head coach Dan Quinn didn’t hold his day-after press conference until Monday evening (ET) due to the extraordinary travel, but still had some news to address in his meeting with the media. He touched on injuries to Marcus Mariota and Jaylin Lane and a lot more, as the Commanders move on from the latest loss and toward a Week 5 clash with the rival New York Giants. He also said that safety Nick Cross (illness/internal), guard Sam Cosmi (concussion) and running back Rachaad White (should) should at least retur to practice.
