Where LSU Tigers Offense Ranks Across NCAA Through Five Weeks

By admin — In News — October 6, 2026

The LSU Tigers sit at 4-1 on the year and have looked mostly dominant on both sides of the ball outside of their loss to the Ole Miss Rebels. This is what was expected after the team brought in the minds of Lane Kiffin and Charlie Weis Jr. on offense, while keeping Blake Baker and most of the defensive staff together. Production all around and complementary football.Last week, the defense was highlighted as one of the highest-ranking units in the country. Here is where the offense ranks now through five games:Passing Offense – 310.0 Yards Per Game – No. 13If the Tigers team had a weakness over the first couple of weeks, it was their passing attack. The numbers overall looked solid (outside of the turnovers), but the play-to-play consistency was lackluster. Sam Leavitt was a game-changer with his legs, but felt uneven as a passer. Then, against the Texas A&M Aggies, something clicked. A leg injury forced him to sit in the pocket and deliver the ball, which led to some great success. Now he has some added confidence in his arm. Jackson Harris has also broken out as one of the top options on the offense.Rushing Offense – 237.8 Yards Per Game – No. 15Fans who didn’t watch closely this offseason were surprised to see Dilin Jones starting over Harlem Berry and Caden Durham, but it didn’t take long to understand why it happened.Jones has been a mean runner who has fought through contact and found the right holes to pick up consistent yardage. The offensive line hasn’t even been spectacular in the run game, but the Tigers have been able to pick up yards. Leavitt has been the team’s top rusher behind him.Berry has begun to have a bit of a breakout as a backup with back-to-back strong showings. He has all the talent in the world, but has had to embrace the small things that come along with playing running back. Stacy Gage has been a top option for them as well.Total Offense – 547.8 Yards Per Game – No. 3While neither side of the offensive attack is in the top-10, there are few teams as balanced as LSU is right now, so they sit here at the top. This is obviously helped out by them putting up 731 yards of offensive last week, but the sentiments remain the same. This offense combined with this defense is enough to compete for a title. Now they just need to keep it going into SEC play.
