Barcelona star’s new contract to be announced this weekLa Liga giants Barcelona are expected to announce the renewal of star attacker Raphinha’s contract before the week is out.Frontman Raphinha is for his part of course fresh off nothing short of a spectacular start to the new campaign. Afforded both the captain’s armband and a new role as Hansi Flick’s attacking spearhead, the Brazilian has responded with 17 direct goal contributions in just eight appearances.Having evidently already seen enough to be convinced of his place in their plans for the years ahead, Deco and the Camp Nou brass therefore recently opened talks with Raphinha over a new contract. And if the latest word stemming from the media early this week is anything to go by, then a final accord now appears to have been reached…As per a report from market insider Fabrizio Romano:‘Raphinha has signed a new contract at Barcelona until June 2030! All approved, closed with his camp and lawyers. New deal done and sealed. Official announcement and ceremony can take place this week; on Friday, if all goes to plan with the documents.’Conor Laird – GSFN
