We’ve already seen New York add another quarterback in J.J. McCarthy, though it remains uncertain when he’ll play.Quarterback Jameis Winston hasn’t been great by any means, but he’s found a way to get his team wins, and at the end of the day, that’s the biggest priority in the NFL. However, one insider doesn’t believe that it’s going to last for too long, suggesting that once McCarthy knows the playbook, that’s who New York is going to give the keys to the offense.“As soon as [McCarthy] learns the playbook, because his skill set is more matched up to Jaxson Dart’s than Jameis,” Cris Carter said, H/T Heavy. “Jameis’ skill set, I’m talking about thrower, runner, they match up well. Jaxson Dart is a dual threat. J.J. McCarthy is a dual threat.“They match up better running the same thing than Jameis, who is a straight drop-back. I will throw this into a defensive meeting. Now, Jameis is a talented thrower, but not as talented as he thinks he is.”When the Giants traded for McCarthy, it felt like more of a safety net if Winston didn’t do what was needed. However, now that he was able to win this game, it feels safe to say he’ll at least get another opportunity to start in the immediate term. As for what the Giants want to do after that if he doesn’t play well, that’s up to head coach John Harbaugh and the rest of his staff. There’s been a lot to like about what Winston has done throughout his career, but he’s definitely not the same player that he once was. As for McCarthy, he’s an unproven youngster who would be thrown into the fire in high-pressure moments.More NFL news:Vikings get positive Justin Jefferson update after making wise decision against DolphinsCommanders get Jayden Daniels injury news ahead of Giants gamePackers’ Matt LaFleur unhappy with Green Bay after Buccaneers winBengals’ Joe Burrow has message for worried fans after two straight lossesJets fans will be mindblown after crazy stat against Bears shows why they lost
