Eagles News: Bryce Huff calls out Philadelphia fans and his former team

Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles news and links …
Bryce Huff unleashed on Eagles and fan base after one season failure – Inside The Iggles“It’s cool to say like I was part of a Super Bowl winning team, but like the way that that went down, like me finding out that I wasn’t playing, I lost so much respect for people involved,” former Philadelphia Eagles edge rusher Bryce Huff said about the team via the Caps Off Podcast. Those are some bold words from Huff, even after saying what he said about a team that gave him big money in free agency in 2024 to produce the kind of awful numbers he did. He racked up 13 tackles, four quarterback hits, three tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and one forced fumble in 12 games that year. Huff would say he knew from the start that it was not going to be a good fit with the Eagles. “First week of camp,” Huff said. “For the fans especially, like, they like take pride in going after people.”

17 IDKs from the Eagles’ spring practices – BGNThere are reasons to be encouraged about the Eagles’ new offensive coordinator. Everyone he works with seems to think he’s a pretty smart guy; Jordan Mailata went as far to call him an “evil genius.” Sean Mannion had some good things to say during his sole spring press conference. There are signs that Mannion is going to help truly evolve the Eagles’ offense. We saw a lot of under-center looks, play-action, motion, etc. during spring practices. Is Mannion definitely going to help the offense be significantly better in 2026? I do think it’s possible. But I don’t know that I feel confident about it at this point in time. I’m more in the camp of keeping an open mind.
The Eagles Season Is Around The Corner with Brandon Lee Gowton – Philadelphia Sports TableThe Philadelphia Eagles offseason is right around the corner and there are a number of storylines we’re still talking about and following as Training Camp is just over a month away. This week, Brandon Lee Gowton from BleedingGreenNation.com joined Jeff to break down some Eagles storylines: the inevitable Jalen Cater contract extension, Jalen Hurts’ future in Philly, the wide receiver room, and more. Plus, Jeff and BLG dove into some NFL storylines we’re following this summer as well. It’s a great discussion and show this week!
Official NFL press box food spread rankings, from 32 to 1 – PhillyVoice15) Eagles. The Eagles used to have a top 10 type of spread, but they have settled into middle-of-the-pack territory.
Makai Lemon Comp – Iggles BlitzLet’s talk about an undersized Big Ten wide receiver who lacked ideal speed and was drafted by the Eagles. You’re thinking of Makai Lemon. I’m thinking of Calvin Williams. He was 5-11, 190 and set receiving records at Purdue. The Eagles spent a mid-round pick on Williams and he went on to have a productive career with them. Back in the 90’s there used to be a magazine called Ultimate Sports Pro Football that put out annual scouting reports on all the starters and key players for each team. I still have a bunch of the magazines since they make for great reference material. Here is what was said about Williams in 1994 and 1995.

Eagles 2026 most important list: Nolan Smith – NBCSPThe production was down last year, but Smith has proven that he can produce in the NFL. Over the course of the final 16 games of the 2024 season (including the playoffs), Smith had 10 1/2 sacks. That included four in the Super Bowl run. The real question is whether or not he can be that productive consistently in his career. A big part of the answer to that question is Smith’s health. At 6-foot-2, 238 pounds, Smith is an undersized edge rusher, but he certainly doesn’t play like it. Smith isn’t afraid of contact and — while it makes him a fun player to watch — it’s fair to wonder what that means for his longevity in the NFL.
Mama Kelce’s Jello shots, a prosthetic leg beer chug, and more from Jason Kelce’s annual Sea Isle fundraiser – InquirerJason Kelce must have learned that “no shirt, no shoes, no service” applies to pants as well. After starting last year’s fundraiser with tear-away shorts and a Speedo, Jason Kelce was comparatively reserved this year for his entrance when he and wife Kylie Kelce hosted the sixth annual “Shore Birds” event at the Ocean Drive in Sea Isle City benefiting the Eagles Autism Foundation on Wednesday. Last year, the fundraiser raised over $1 million, increasing the bar for this year’s goal. Here are some of the highlights from this year’s event …

Steve Zabel, throwback two-way player, dies at 78 – PFTSteve Zabel, a tight end and pass rusher who was Oklahoma’s last two-way player and then played both positions in the NFL, has died at the age of 78. Zabel could do everything in college at Oklahoma, playing tight end, linebacker and punter, and the Eagles selected him with the sixth overall pick in the 1970 NFL draft. Zabel recalled in a 2021 interview with the Eagles’ website that his status as a two-way player began because he was one of the few Sooners playing well during a tough start to the 1968 season.

2026 NFL offseason: Don’t overreact to these five storylines – NFL.com1) A.J. Brown’s arrival instantly sets up Patriots for another Super Bowl run. I want it to be clear that I think New England has lacked a receiver like this for a while now, and a motivated Brown could turn in one of his better seasons with Drake Maye throwing his way. Romeo Doubs also was a nice addition, even if his numbers might appear relatively tame. The Patriots clearly took advantage of a weak regular-season schedule last year and also exploited a wide-open AFC field, the rest of which imploded down the stretch. I don’t believe either of those things will happen again in the coming season. With a tougher track and, I suspect, a more competitive conference, New England might not be able to pull off seven one-score victories for the second season in a row. The Mike Vrabel drama also has revealed a different vulnerability after coaching was arguably one of the 2025 Pats’ biggest strengths. Re-creating that synergy in 2026 could be tough.
Why the Cowboys offense could be even better in 2026 – Blogging The BoysIf Lamb hadn’t gotten hurt, who’s to say he wouldn’t have had another career season? It’s a super small sampling, but before his ankle injury, he was averaging 12 targets, resulting in eight catches for 111 yards, which would have put him on pace for career highs in all of those categories. Surprise! CeeDee Lamb is great! Of course, that’s only a surprise for those suffering from a strong case of recency bias. And remember, we do not need to choose sides. A healthy Lamb, combined with a highly motivated Pickens, gives the Cowboys a dangerous aerial assault. It never has to be one or the other. This offense has plenty of room for two superstars to feast, and that could be exactly what’s in store for them in 2026.
Brandon Aiyuk calls for the 49ers to cut him so he can sign with the Commanders tomorrow – Hogs Haven[BLG Note: I get that the Commanders could use some help at receiver, but … why would you be excited about adding this dude to your team right now?]
10 reasons why the Giants won’t be a dumpster fire in 2026 – Big Blue ViewI usually ignore the annual “dumpster fire” series of posts Jimmy Kempski of the Philly Voice pens, trashing the Philadelphia Eagles’ NFC East opposition. This year, I decided to respond to Kempski’s ‘10 reasons the Giants will be a dumpster fire’. Maybe that’s because the Giants have actually been a dumpster fire more often than not since winning the 2011 Super Bowl, and I believe that is going to turn with the hiring of John Harbaugh as head coach. Kempski’s 10 reasons, and my responses, are below.

Lions CB Terrion Arnold faces potential life in prison for alleged kidnapping – SB NationDetroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold has turned himself in to Florida police on eight felony counts related to an alleged revenge crime. The 23-year-old is accused of four counts of robbery with a deadly weapon, and four counts of kidnapping — which the Attorney General’s office said carry “a potential sentence of life in prison,” if he is found guilty. Prosecutors allege that an Airbnb rented by Arnold in Largo, Florida was burgled sometime between Jan. 25 and Feb. 1, with the perpetrators taking an estimated $250,000 in cash and goods belonging to the Lions’ CB. The exact date of the initial crime is unknown, as police say Arnold did not file a police report until Feb. 3, stating that he didn’t realize anything was missing from the residence until that time. In addition, police say Arnold told them at the scene that he would not be pressing any charges.
