Despite a rash of early-season injury issues, the Los Angeles Rams have managed to keep their season afloat entering a big Monday night matchup with the Buffalo Bills. Unfortunately for the Rams, they’ll have to hold on longer before they have all their horses back. Per Adam Grosbard of the Los Angeles Daily News and Orange County Register, Myles Garrett, who had knee surgery after Week 1, doesn’t appear to have a return timeline in place. He’s not even going to practice this upcoming week after the Rams’ game with the Bills, which means he will also miss the Rams’ date with the Arizona Cardinals next Sunday. Woof. That’s not a good sign for where Garrett stands in his current recovery, but at least the Rams are being cautious with their best player. Myles Garrett is not expected to return to practice next week, Sean McVay says. Says Rams DE is recovering on track but doesn’t look like he will be ready next week— Adam Grosbard (@AdamGrosbard) October 10, 2026As for when Garrett will come back, well, if we’re to assume the Rams are going to stick to his original 6-8 recovery timeline, I’d now venture to guess that L.A. will stretch that to its very end. That means we probably won’t see Garrett until November 1st at the earliest, when the Rams “host” the Los Angeles Chargers (they both play in the same stadium). If the Rams elect to push Garrett’s return back another week so they are sure about him being ready for a pivotal stretch run, a return date on the road against the Washington Commanders the following week would also make sense. Needless to say, this is definitely a huge bummer for the Rams and Garrett, who thought the perennial Defensive Player of the Year would be a wrecking ball all season long. But that’s what you have to do with talented players coming off surgery. Rush them back too soon, and you risk harming their long-term future with your team.
