The NFL officially announced on Thursday that the 2027 NFL Draft will be held on April 29-May 1 in Washington D.C.
An NFL draft hasn’t been held in Washington D.C. since 1940, when the Chicago Bears selected halfback Tom Harmon with the No. 1 overall pick. The official venue for the 2027 event is slated to be at the National Mall.

The first round will be held on April 29 exactly, while the second and third rounds will take place on April 30. The final four rounds of the event will conclude on May 1. So much can change in a year, but if the draft were held today, the New England Patriots would likely be looking for an edge rusher with their first-round pick.
Time will tell if that remains a top priority for the team after the 2026 season.
The 2027 NFL Draft is expected to be one of the most talented classes in recent memory, including top prospects, such as Texas’ Arch Manning, Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith, Texas’ Colin Simmons and South Carolina’s Dylan Stewart.

It should provide a great opportunity for the Patriots to continue building and shaping a roster that should be a perennial Super Bowl contender.
