Rams Make Decision on Blake Grupe Following Injury vs Cardinals

By admin — In News — October 19, 2026

The Los Angeles Rams placed kicker Blake Grupe, who signed with the team Tuesday, on injured reserve following an injury he sustained Sunday.Grupe had one field goal opportunity against the Arizona Cardinals in Sunday’s loss, converting from 44 yards in the first quarter. On the ensuing kickoff, he pushed returner Devin Duvernay out of bounds, suffering a knee injury in the process. He immediately came out of the game, doubtful to return, and left the stadium in a leg brace. The Rams are yet to replace him on the roster. They opted to go for two following a second-quarter touchdown, failing the attempt, and turned the ball over on downs on the Cardinals’ 27-yard line in the third quarter rather than kicking a 44-yard field goal.Punter Ethan Evans hit a PAT to give the Rams a one-point lead with less than a minute left in the fourth quarter, but the Cardinals stormed down the field to hit a field goal and win by a score of 18-16.This incident came less than a week after the Rams waived their previous kicker, Harrison Mevis, due to his inaccuracy in last week’s Monday Night Football loss to the Buffalo Bills. Neither of Mevis’ two looks last week went through the sticks, one being a game-tying effort in overtime, which the Bills blocked.Without a kicker on their roster, the Rams are sure to make a pickup with Grupe sidelined. What’s Next for the Rams? The Rams are off to a rough start to the season, as they currently have a 2-4 record through six games and sit last in the NFC West. Despite their sour record, though, the Rams have been among the best offensively and defensively in the NFL. They’ll get an opportunity to bounce back from a rough few weeks on Sunday, when they face off against the Las Vegas Raiders, who have lost each of their last three games following a 3-0 start. Kickoff for that game comes at 1:25 p.m. PT.The post Rams Make Decision on Blake Grupe Following Injury vs Cardinals appeared first on LA Sports Report.
