Washington Football in Hot Pursuit of High-End 2028 4-Star Maryland OL

As Jedd Fisch and his coaching staff continue to expand Washington’s recruiting footprint, it will once again head east to try to reel in one of the nation’s premier offensive line prospects. Four-star 2028 interior lineman Josiah Eney is high on Washington’s board, as the Maryland native holds all the traits to become the next big splash in the trenches for offensive line coach Michael Switzer.Listed at 6-foot-5, 300 pounds, Eney has received offers from 17 premier programs nationwide, including Ohio State, Penn State, and Tennessee, among others. While UW is by no means the closest program to home for the towering lineman, Fisch is no stranger to pulling in talent from all across the nation. In his junior year at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School, the monstrosity of a human being has already showcased the agility and footwork to play at the next level. What stands out the most about the highly-touted prospect, however, is the physicality. On film, Eney is putting defenders flat on their backs simply due to his staggering size and strength.Check out my first 4 games going against some of the best defenses in the country!!#pipehitter@gcfootball@FATboysOLine@SWiltfong_@ChadSimmons_@BrianDohn247@EdOBrienCFB@adamgorney@RyanSnyderOn3@SeaTownKev@tdhald@TheUCReport@SeattleCigarspic.twitter.com/rJmhJHwhwS— 4 ⭐️ Josiah Eney (@JosiahEney) September 20, 2026According to the 247Sports Composite, Eney is the No. 8-ranked prospect in the state of Maryland and the No. 138 overall player in the 2028 class. Despite playing tackle at the high school level, his size and physicality project out better to the interior at the next level. As the top-ranked recruit continues to gain attention from powerhouse programs, Washington will have to rely on its longstanding relationship with the junior. According to Rivals, Seattle was Eney’s first-ever college visit, dating back to June 2025. That wasn’t the only time he made the cross-country trip, though, as he once again returned to the shores of Montlake last May, and returned for UW’s matchup with Minnesota in late September. Now, UW will be able to rely on the fact that they were one of the first programs to establish a connection with the blue-chip talent. As Washington continues to build their offensive line with promising young names like John Mills and Kodi Greene, Eney could be the next name on the list of players who can help transform UW into a true contender in the Big Ten.This article originally appeared on Huskies Wire: Washington Football in Hot Pursuit of High-End 2028 4-Star Maryland OL
