The second exhibition game of the year for Kentucky basketball saw them face a tougher opponent in a ranked Texas Tech team. After a shaky first game, the Wildcats were much stronger, and took it 76-65.Milan Momcilovic was good once again, and scored 15 points. However, it was Kentucky’s young guards who stole the show. Sophomore Alex Wilkins scored 13 points, and added 7 assists and 3 steals, hitting some huge second half threes. Meanwhile, freshman Mason Williams added 14 points of his own, including some tough shots in traffic.Turnovers were a problem again, but the Wildcats had just 11 in this one, compared to 19 last time out. They also will need to rebound better. They were out-rebounded by the Red Raiders, who more than once just out-battled Kentucky’s big men.Overall, though, it was a strong game for Pope’s squad, and a step forward overall. Afterwards, Big Blue Nation took to social media to talk about it. This team is fun.— Lane Mills (@_lanemills) October 24, 2026Mason Williams is turning headsYo. Easy to point out exhibitions are a small sample size, but he definitely appears ahead of schedule. #BBN#KentuckyBasketball— Noah Crigler (@criglermedia) October 24, 2026Thoughts on Kentucky basketballYes, it was an exhibition. Yes, there are things to clean up. But 5 Cats in double figures in a W against a team ranked above us has me excited. GO BIG BLUE! #BBN— Aaron Huff (@aaronhuff) October 24, 2026Played much better tonight especially on defense, too many offensive rebounds given up though and need to get Momcilovic more shots but a great win for the Cats!!! #bbn#kentucky— Jeremy Bland (@jjkycat) October 24, 2026Clearly, room for improvement. Definitely need our full roster before we can adequately assess our team. However, I definitely saw some things that are better than last week (i.e. handling the press), but I also see room to improve. Overall, I’m a happy girl!#BBN— MicheleGolfsALot (@ForeverBigBlue) October 24, 2026Good win. I’m up on this team. Clean up the cosmetic issues and let’s hoop #BBN— Kentucky Update (@ky__update) October 24, 2026Good W cats. Seen some good stuff from the guys tonight. The 3s will start falling sooner than later. Gotta get better on the glass #BBN— chad (@chadberry33) October 24, 2026GO BIG BLUE!!!!!
