Bayern Munich pulled off one of the biggest moves of the transfer window by completing the signing of Ismael Saibari before the start of the World Cup. The Bavarian club won the race despite strong interest from PSG.
After an impressive group-stage campaign at the World Cup, scoring three goals in three matches for Morocco, Ismael Saibari is set to leave PSV Eindhoven during the summer transfer window.
An agreement has already been reached between the Dutch club, the 25-year-old player, and Bayern Munich. It is a major coup for the reigning German champions, who will spend 55 million euros to secure the services of the Moroccan attacking midfielder.
The Bavarian club showed great foresight by finalizing the move before the World Cup began, as Saibari’s price tag would undoubtedly have increased following his strong performances with Morocco.

UEFA Champions League: 7 matches, 3 goals, 0 assists
Total: 37 matches, 19 goals, 9 assists
At Paris Saint-Germain, the situation’s evolution was closely monitored. According to Fussball Daten, the two-time reigning European champions were very interested in making Ismael Saibari one of their attacking reinforcements this summer.
Luis Enrique had approved the move, viewing the Feyenoord Rotterdam player as an excellent addition, capable of playing in multiple attacking and midfield positions while meeting the technical standards required by the PSG manager.
Tottenham was also monitoring the player, according to the outlet, but Spurs were further behind, lacking Champions League qualification and coming off a disastrous season that nearly sent the London club into the Championship.
Despite strong interest from Paris, Saibari will therefore continue his career at Bayern Munich, which moved more quickly to secure the Moroccan international.
It remains to be seen whether the former Feyenoord Rotterdam player, who recorded 19 goals and nine assists in all competitions this season, will establish himself at a club where he must compete with Michael Olise, Luis Diaz, and Jamal Musiala for a place in the starting lineup.
