Keith Olbermann and Sage SteeleFormer ESPN anchor Sage Steele has found herself in the middle of a growing controversy surrounding Life Surge, a Christian organization that has been accused of running a predatory business model. Despite the controversy surrounding the organization, Steele has continued to appear at the group’s events, even as other prominent sports figures like Tim Tebow have distanced themselves. As a result, former ESPN host Keith Olbermann, Steele’s former colleague, blasted her on social media this week, saying that she has somehow become “more stupid” and “more corrupt” and once again calling her the dumbest person he has ever worked with. The Life Surge ControversyLast month, Pablo Torre Finds Outtook a deep look at Life Surge, which holds events around the country featuring athletes, TV personalities, and other speakers. Tickets to the events typically cost about $30. But Torre reported that the events are designed to funnel attendees into classes on stock trading and real estate, with mentorship programs that can cost as much as $50,000.To make matters worse, third-party brokers reportedly helped attendees apply for credit cards with temporary 0% interest rates, and some people were encouraged to borrow against their homes and retirement accountsAfter the report, Tebow said he was pausing his relationship with the organization. Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla also distanced himself from the group. Steele, however, has continued her relationship with the organization.Steele Continues With Life SurgeIn a new episode of his show, Torre showed footage of Steele speaking at a Life Surge event in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Oct. 10 – weeks after his report exposing the organization. In her speech, Steele spoke about “cancellation” and “losing friendships” as a result of her beliefs.“Cancellation is real. Losing paychecks is real. Losing friendships is real,” Steele told the crowd, via Awful Announcing. “But I can tell you through personal experience that what can come on the other side is beautiful.”Steele was pulled off the air at ESPN in 2021 after controversial comments about the company’s vaccine mandate, and she later settled a lawsuit with the network in 2023.According to Torre, his show has been exchanging messages with Steele’s representatives since before the first episode aired. But Steele has not responded to any of his questions about the allegations against Life Surge.‘More Stupid Or More Corrupt’Needless to say, Olbermann was not impressed by his former colleague’s continued involvement with Life Surge or her recent comments. In fact, he doubled down on calling her “the dumbest person I ever worked with.”“I have to confess I didn’t think @sagesteele could get more stupid or more corrupt – yet here we are,” Olbermann wrote on X.“Dumbest person I ever worked with. Steve Roah levels of dumb (deep cut, KTLA 1985-86),” he added. This is not the first time Olb
