Barcelona 1-2 Real Madrid: Mbappé brace wins El Clásico for Los BlacosReal Madrid won the season’s first El Clásico on Sunday night, thanks to a brace from Kylian Mbappé.The Frenchman put Real ahead shortly before half-time, but Raphinha levelled for Barça on the hour mark. The match looked to be heading for a draw until Mbappé netted a late winner, causing José Mourinho to kneeslide on the touchline. As it happenedHans-Dieter Flick made two changes to his Barcelona side after their 4-2 loss to PSG on Tuesday night, with Rodri and Fermín López replacing Dani Olmo and Marc Bernal in midfield. Meanwhile, José Mourinho named four changes, with Andriy Lunin, Ibrahima Konaté, Marc Cucurella and Yan Diomande replacing Thibaut Courtois, Antonio Rüdiger, Álvaro Carreras and Vinicius Junior.Barcelona dominated large parts of the first half, with Anthony Gordon forcing three saves out of Lunin, and plenty of other chances going begging for the hosts. The opener came in the 41st minute, when Mbappé arguably got incredibly lucky. It was Diomande’s delivery into the box that initially seemed to be dealt with by Gerard Martín; however, the Barça defender could only clear it into the leg of the onrushing striker, who saw the ball bounce into the back of the net off his shin.Diomande came close himself minutes later, breaking in behind the Barcelona defence before firing his shot into the side netting, meaning the score stayed at 1-0 going into the break. The first real chance of the second half saw Raphinha draw the hosts level when his left-footed strike from inside the area found its way past Lunin after a clever disguised pass from Pedri.Arda Güler looked to put Madrid back ahead mere moments later, but Joan García was on hand to palm his shot away from danger. Lunin made a spectacular save in the 65th minute, when he managed to react quickly and keep out Martín’s close-range header. The winning goal came in the 87th minute, when Los Blancos broke away down the left following some superb skill from Jude Bellingham in the middle of the park. The Englishman laid it off to Eduardo Camavinga, who played a nice one-two with Cucurella before setting up Mbappé to tap home from close range and earn Mourinho’s side all three points at the Nou Camp.
