Dolphins Predicted to Make Exciting Quarterback Move in Offseason

By admin — In News — October 28, 2026

During the NFL offseason, the Miami Dolphins decided to make a quarterback change. They moved on from Tua Tagovailoa and quickly signed former Green Bay Packers signal caller Malik Willis to a lucrative three-year, $67.5 million deal in free agency.Willis has played solid football to begin the 2026 season. Through six games, he has completed 57.6 percent of his pass attempts for 1,057 yards, four touchdowns, and four interceptions, while also picking up 223 yards and scoring three more touchdowns on the ground. There is a chance that Willis could be a long-term option for the Dolphins. At 27 years old, he still has a long future ahead of him in the NFL.While it’s possible Miami could stick with Willis moving forward, the chance of having a high pick in the 2027 NFL Draft could make passing on a quarterback difficult to do.Keeping that in mind, a new prediction has been made that would see the Dolphins make an exciting move at the quarterback position.NFL Trade Rumors analyst Ethan Woodie has predicted that Miami will end up selecting Miami Hurricanes standout signal caller Darian Mensah with the No. 3 overall pick. It’s important to note that the 2027 NFL Draft order is changing each and every week based on wins and losses. The Dolphins holding the No. 3 overall pick is simply a projection at this point in time.Mensah would be an exciting addition for Miami. Not only are many fans in the area already diehard fans of him, he brings elite arm talent to the field. So far this season with the Hurricanes, Mensah has led the team to a perfect 7-0 record. From an individual perspective, he has completed a sizzling 81.4 percent of his passes for 2,151 yards, 22 touchdowns, and just one interception. Mensah has also picked up 73 yards and scored two touchdowns with his legs.Moving on from Willis after just one season would be a tough decision. But, the opportunity to land a potential superstar in the making should not be passed on.Whether or not Mensah will be a member of the Dolphins next season or not remains to be seen. But, if Miami is in a position to bring him onboard, the front office should make the move.Expect to continue hearing more about the Dolphins’ future plans as the season moves forward. For now, it seems likely that a quarterback would be a top option if they finish with a top-five draft pick.
