With veteran wide receiver Terry McLaurin out for the rest of the regular season and Stefon Diggs playing through injuries, the Washington Commanders are counting on rookie Antonio Williams to step up for the rest of the season.“A lot of my mishaps or things where I feel like I need to get better on just being on the same page with [Commanders quarterback] Jayden [Daniels]. I feel like that’s the biggest thing,” Williams said. “Physically, I think I’m there. I’m ready, just, it’s enough rookie excuses or anything like that. It’s time to grow up and be there, be that guy.”So far this season, Williams has 18 receptions for 205 yards and a touchdown. His best game of the season came against the Philadelphia Eagles in the season opener when he had four receptions for 64 yards and a touchdown. Washington will be hoping Williams repeats that performance when they take on Philadelphia on Sunday Night Football this week.Pro Football Plus: Antonio Williams may be a big factor in this game on Sunday night against the Eagles. Given their current receiver situation, trading for a receiver now could be a smart move for the future, especially since McLaurin and Diggs are over 30 years old. This article originally appeared on Commanders Wire: Commanders rookie WR Antonio Williams on stepping up vs Eagles on SNF
