Chelsea v Man United player ratings: Lisandro Martinez embarrasses himself and his team-mates with red card

Chelsea eased to victory against Manchester United after Lisandro Martinez’s red card piled the pressure on Michael Carrick. Morgan Rogers scored a stunning opening goal after a chaotic first half where United wasted several chances to take the lead at Stamford Bridge. The forward danced through the United defence and then chipped goalkeeper Senne Lammens before the visitors fell apart. Martinez was booked twice in two minutes while also conceding a needless penalty for leading with his forearm in a challenge on Wesley Fofana. Cole Palmer scored the penalty to condemn United to a third consecutive defeat, while they are now nine games without a win in all competitions. Here are how the players rated at Stamford Bridge Chelsea Mike Penders, 7A much-needed clean sheet after his error in the defeat against Tottenham last week. Produced a stunning save late on to deny Mbuemo’s volley. Josh Acheampong, 7Assured in defence and displayed his excellent recovery speed. The 20-year-old continues to impress. Levi Colwill, 7Needed to step up in the absence of Maxence Lacroix and largely did – despite the error prone Fofana playing alongside him. Wesley Fofana, 3A frightening watch for Chelsea fans on Halloween. Two lapses of concentration presented huge two chances to Amad Diallo, which were wasted. Fofana was fortunate his slip was not costly (Reuters)Marco Palestra, 5He did fine. Improved as the game went on after a bit of a shaky first half where Diallo enjoyed a lot of space. Moises Caicedo, 7Bossed the midfield, as you would expect, although he was upstaged by his midfield partner! Romeo Lavia, 9Pivotal to the opening goal, nicking the ball off Mbeumo and beating Baleba to it before releasing Rogers. An impressive performance. Lavia was superb in the Chelsea midfield (AP)Estevao Willian, 8A bright spark on his first Premier League start of the season and certainly made an impression. Denied a wonderful third goal by a narrow offside. Cole Palmer, 7 Produced a few moments of class, although his penalty could have been saved by Senne Lammens. But back to doing what he does best after his red card against Spurs. Morgan Rogers, 9Exceptional. His ability to dribble through contact (or avoid it completely against the absent United defence) won Chelsea the game and his goal was brilliantly taken. Rogers finished off a stunning run through the United defence (Getty)Pedro Neto, 6Shifted into a more unfamiliar position as Chelsea try and work out how to deal with Joao Pedro’s injury. It did not suit the Portuguese as much as wing-back seems to. Manchester United Senne Lammens, 5 Should have saved Palmer’s penalty and had a few shaky moments, but denied Estevao with a decent diving stop late on. Leny Yoro, 3Disappeared as Rogers waltzed through the United defence. You feel for him as he is being played out of position. Harry Maguire, 3Presented a chance to Neto in the first half and then vanished into thin air as Rogers dribbled through to score. Lisan
