‘He’s getting better every day’ – Max Eberl on Vincent KompanySpeaking ahead of Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga clash against Borussia Dortmund, Max Eberl offered an update on Vincent Kompany, who has been discharged from hospital after being diagnosed with a meningeal irritation – an inflammation of the membrane surrounding the brain and spinal cord.“We’re trying to leave him in peace, but of course you still ask a friend, someone who’s been through life with you, how he’s doing,” Eberl told Sky Germany. When questioned about Kompany’s return date, Eberl declined to give a clear indication. “I think with this illness, it’s rather difficult to say whether it will take x days or x weeks,” he explained. “His recovery is progressing; he’s getting better every day.“That’s the most important thing right now. We’re simply trying to get through this together without setting a specific timeframe.”Speaking throughout the week, several Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga head coaches reflected on the relentless demands of the job after Kompany’s collapse.GGFN | Daniel Pinder
