The Minnesota Vikings suffered their first loss of the 2026 season on Sunday, falling to the Detroit Lions 19-15. Minnesota’s offense managed only 266 total yards, a meager total against a Lions defense that entered Week 8 allowing the most yards per game in the league.Kevin O’Connell told reporters on Monday that Kyler Murray was dealing with a sore hamstring that he sustained in Sunday’s game. O’Connell said that Murray will undergo a full evaluation ahead of next Monday night’s game against the Buffalo Bills. That could open the door for Carson Wentz to return to the lineup for the first time since Week 2. Wentz completed 59% of his passes for 276 yards and three touchdowns in just over seven quarters after replacing Murray in the team’s season opener. The Vikings enter Week 9 ranked 29th in total yards and 31st in passing yards. Perhaps Wentz can spark Minnesota’s offense, which has continued to sputter coming out of its Week 6 bye week. This article originally appeared on Vikings Wire: Vikings QB Kyler Murray dealing with a knee injury ahead of Week 9
