Superstar edge rusher Myles Garrett is “on track” to return off injured reserve and play against the Commanders in Week 9, per a Friday report by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo. That’s bad news for Washington if Garrett does return on Sunday, as he’s the best pass rusher on this planet when at the height of his powers and tough to stop even when he’s not. #Rams star Myles Garrett, working his way back from knee surgery that landed him on Injured Reserve, is on track to be activated ahead of Sunday’s game at the #Commanders, per me and @MikeGarafolo.Garrett has practiced all week and all indications point towards him playing. He missed most of Rams training camp with the ailment, played the regular-season opener, then was placed on IR and had arthroscopic surgery after that. He returned to practice this week and is reportedly on the way back. A team effort will be required to slow Garrett if he does return, with chipping tight ends and running backs helping offensive tackles on both flanks. “It’s hard to simulate any type of explosiveness like that,” Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said in a Friday press conference. “He’s long. He’s bigger than you think. He has been a player you admire watching because of the play style and the attitude and the things he can do. The rusher part of it is what you’re measured on, but this is a complete player in every way.”
