(Photo by Mike Carlson/Getty Images) | Getty Images The Kansas City Chiefs lost the second exhibition of the preseason with a 16-15 defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Saturday.Despite the loss, the Chiefs had many bright spots throughout the game; however, the offensive tackle play was not one of them.Josh Simmons has been out of practice with a back injury, so Jaylon Moore slid to left tackle, and rookie Kahlil Benson kicked inside from guard to right tackle.Benson had taken most of the first-team snaps at right tackle throughout camp, but when Trey Smith missed time with a hip injury, the team slid Benson into guard, where he had played in the Chiefs’ first preseason game in limited snaps, with Moore on the right side. The pair did not look sharp on Saturday night, allowing multiple pressures and multiple quarterback hits. The reserve tackles didn’t look great either — except for one — but with the final week of the preseason upon us and the regular season right around the corner, this should give the Chiefs some cause for concern.The first teamWith Moore on the left and Benson on the right, the Chiefs’ first-team offensive line struggled to protect Fields early on in the game.Not a bad stunt pickup by the KC IOL. Benson needs to be better with his hands and pad level to sit down against the bull rush. Moore starts out fine, but lets the edge swipes his hands and get to the QB. pic.twitter.com/dNV756D1dI— Caleb James (@CJScoobs) August 23, 2026On the snap, Moore is initially fine out of his stance, but as the edge rusher draws near, he attempts to land both hands, and the edge quickly pulls off a swipe to get free and bend the arc. Justin Fields delivers the football in time, but is still brought to the ground. The Buccaneers recorded eight quarterback hits throughout the course of the game, with the majority of them coming from their edge rushers. While Moore was far from good, Benson struggled significantly in his first taste of NFL action at tackle. TB showing seven along the LOS pre-snap. They bring five. Benson needs to trust his slide more, but when he turns to go after Bain, it results in the hump. Moore’s shoulder turn leads to Fields getting hit, while Benson gets hit with a hump move and is knocked into the pocket. Post-game, it was revealed that the Chiefs were using a silent snap count, which could have led to some of the timing issues off the ball.With so many players walked up, Benson looks to protect the inside first be
