Today will be no different for the LSU Tigers and Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.LSU and Louisiana Tech first met on October 28, 1901, and LSU took a resounding 57-0 win while Tech was still known as Louisiana Industrial. The Tigers and Bulldogs have faced each other more than 20 times, with LSU holding the series record at 20-1 or 20-2, depending on your feelings toward an unverified win for Louisiana Tech back in 1904, which would have been the third time the two teams faced each other in that season. After the loss(es) in 1904, LSU shut Louisiana Tech out for the next five meetings, spanning 1905 to 1909.In two of LSU’s four national championship seasons, the Tigers have played and beaten the Bulldogs, winning in 2003 49-10 and 58-10 in 2007. Those two games are the only time either team has scored exactly 10 points, so if the Tigers can win and hold the Bulldogs to just 10 points, it could be a good omen for the rest of the season.The two faced off just last year in a 23-7 win for LSU. A fairly unenergizing game that saw Garrett Nussmeier go 26-of-41 for 237 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Harlem Berry led the way in rushing with 56 yards on six carries, while Caden Durham scored the game’s lone rushing touchdown. At receiver, Barion Brown reeled in eight catches for 94 yards while Nic Anderson added three catches for 17 yards and a touchdown. West Weeks led the defense in tackles with 10 total, adding half a sack and a tackle for a loss. While LSU has changed quite a bit from 2025, Louisiana Tech relies on much of the same personnel from a year ago, especially at quarterback. Trey Kukuk went 12-for-18 for 50 yards passing and added 16 yards rushing, while Blake Baker went 3-for-8 for 46 yards, throwing the Bulldogs’ lone touchdown of the game to Devin Gandy. Mekhi Mason led the Bulldogs with 11 tackles, recording one sack and 1.5 tackles for a loss. Michael Richard picked off Nussmeier.Both teams are heading into this matchup coming off of impressive wins. LSU defeated Clemson 51-10 in an extremely one-sided contest. Louisiana Tech is heading to Baton Rouge following a blowout of their own, defeating Northwestern State 80-6. LSU and Louisiana Tech will kick off at 6:30 p.m. in Tiger Stadium and will be broadcast on SEC Network+.
