After a 20-3 loss to the New England Patriots, the Steelers are 31st in scoring and dead last in offensive success rate. Despite that, ESPN analyst (and brother of Aaron Rodgers) Jordan Rodgers urges fans and media alike to be patient with the Steelers.“I think if you truly watched Week 1, this was a team that was a few drops and a few missed calls away from being absolutely explosive like we haven’t seen out of the Steelers in a really long time,” Rodgers said on First Take. “And Rodgers was actually very accurate down the field. The throws that were not completed because of a non-call or that were dropped down the field were on the money.”Jordan acknowledged that his analysis may come off as biased toward his older brother, but added that Aaron and McCarthy are still figuring things out with a skill group that has been limited thus far.“[I’m] not trying to be a homer,” Rodgers said. “Another aspect that I think is still a feeling out process is Rodgers and McCarthy are like that ex you ended up getting back together with after a long time… I think they’re still trying to feel out who they want to be based on what they both are capable of in this second iteration of their relationship. And I think that’s going to take time. Now, they can’t run the football, which doesn’t help. And no one can catch right now and they don’t have Michael Pittman. So it’s back to what it was last year where no one complements DK, he’s not playing as good as he should right now, and they don’t have other options. So I think they’ll get better. Patience.”Unfortunately for the Steelers, they are quickly running out of time to afford to be patient, as they will host the 2-0 Cincinnati Bengals in Week 3.
