Sanders was drafted with the 144th overall pick in the fifth round of the 2025 Draft. Despite the low expectations, he eventually became the Browns’ starting quarterback for part of his rookie campaign. Sanders is looking to establish himself further with his team and the league as a whole. However, there have been recent reports that he might not play Cleveland’s 2026 preseason opener against the Chicago Bears. Reports suggest a blister is making it hard for him to throw. In a video posted by Browns insider Mary Cabot on X, Sanders is seen addressing the concern during a media availability.“ In this past off-season, getting back into it, just from throwing a lot, honestly, that’s where it came from. And, they all healed up now. Yeah, but that was a thing, like, I’ll say at the start of training camp and everything that, you know, we just had to work through and, be able to figure out,” Sanders said. The son of NFL legend Deion Sanders says his hand has healed from the wear and tear, but only time will tell if he will sit out some games. No matter who ends up with the starting role, Sanders just wants his team to win, as he shared in the same media availability.“ I hope we all here to wanna win, you know, and be a team and be a franchise. So it’s kind of like we got to slow down, you know, if that’s what we want. But if we just in here to just make money and get clicks, then, you know, we understand that too. So, that’s why I just appreciate the team. I appreciate everybody that we don’t let anything online or anything really get to us, you know, because we’re all in our own cocoon. We’re a team, so anything outside of that doesn’t really affect us in the building,” Sanders shared.
