​Congratulations are in order for Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh, who hit a home run in the top of the second inning on Tuesday night, which tied the contest with the Los Angeles Dodgers at 1-1.For Raleigh, it was the 164th home run of his career, which gave him sole possession of sixth place on the M’s all-time list, surpassing Nelson Cruz at 163. Earlier this season, he passed Alvin Davis on the all-time list, as he had 160.It’s been a dreadful season overall for Raleigh, who played hurt for a while before missing a month with an oblique injury from mid-May until mid-June. Coming off of last season’s 60-homer barrage, he has just 11 and is hitting just .168.It’s not a stretch to say that his regression this season has been the single-biggest difference between last year’s team that won the American League West and this year’s team, which enters play on Tuesday at 52-55 and 3.0 back in the division. Jay Buhner is third at 307 and Kyle Seager is fourth at 242.Alex Rodriguez has the fifth spot at 189, and Raleigh could catch him in the 2027 season, presuming it’s played because of labor unrest, and presuming Raleigh stays healthy and turns this season around more toward his career norms.About Nelson CruzA 19-year veteran of the Rangers, Mariners, Minnesota Twins, Baltimore Orioles, Washington Nationals, Tampa Bay Rays, San Diego Padres and Milwaukee Brewers, Cruz was one of the best sluggers of the 2010s. He hit 464 career home runs, averaging 37 a season.In four years with the Mariners, he hit the 163 homers, registering 37 or more in each season.
