Kaeden Penny could end up being a steal if he signs with the Sooners for the 2027 season. The 6-foot-4, 280-pound senior for the Bixby Spartans is the No. 25th ranked 2027 high school player in the country and the No. 2 prospect in Oklahoma, according to 247Sports. With the Sooners currently holding the No. 5 recruiting class for 2027, signing Penny along with other offensive line commits Cooper Hackett, Isaac Coughran, Tyson Ross and Jaxon Lawler would give the Sooners a huge boost on the depth chart going into the 2027 season. Oklahoma is just 0.68 points behind Miami in the 2027 recruiting rankings.Kaeden Penny is used to being a part of a winning culture. He contributed on an already stacked Bixby offense in its route to the 2025 Oklahoma state championship. Bixby has won all of its 11 state championships since 2014, including eight consecutive titles since 2018. This includes when Bixby moved up from Class 6A-II to 6A-I in 2022.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementDuring the 2025 season, Penny was a big part of an offense that averaged roughly 60 points a game in the Spartans’ 13-0 season. The Spartans scored fewer than 40 points in just two of those games. One of the most notable wins came when Bixby traveled to Jenks, where the Spartans dominated against one of Oklahoma’s traditional high school powers in a 66-35 win. With 6A-I being the highest classification in Oklahoma high school football, Penny’s experience with Bixby should help him prepare for the SEC.With Jake Maikkula and E’Marion Harris being the only seniors in this year’s projected starting offensive line, Kaeden Penny will be able to learn from a group with meaningful experience, assuming there are not numerous departures at the conclusion of the 2026 season. Here are the rest of the 2027 offensive line commits (rankings from 247): Cooper Hackett (No. 17 OL, No. 4 State)Isaac Coughran (No. 35 OL, No. 66 State)Tyson Ross (No. 65 OL, No. 5 State)Jaxon Lawler (No. 98 OL, No. 182 State)
