​The Philadelphia 76ers are going to look pretty different when they take the floor in the 2026-27 season. President of Basketball Operations Mike Gansey and the new-look front office completely overhauled the roster as they made plenty of big additions.The first big domino was acquiring Jaylen Brown from the rival Boston Celtics. The 2024 finals MVP averaged 28.7 points in Boston in 2025-26 and will be a big part of this team’s success. Then, after weeks of deliberation and waiting, the Sixers landed some guy named LeBron James. The future Hall of Famer is a 4-time champion and is arguably the greatest player to ever play this game. Even at 41, James is still a star in this league.The Sixers also added Anfernee Simons, Dean Wade, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and others who will play major roles for Philadelphia. Simons hopped on “Cousins” with Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady–an original series from AMP Sports–and explained how Philadelphia will need to succeed:I had a conversation with Tyrese (Maxey). Everybody understands there’s going to have to be sacrifice. I think that’s pretty obvious. We understand that the stakes are high and a lot of pressure is on us. Everybody expects us to win. I feel like the message should be none of that matters right now based on what we look like on paper.The Sixers will certainly need everybody to be all in and sacrifice as there will be much to figure out in the upcoming season. The offensive hierarchy will need to be ironed out as well as rotations and roles. Simons will likely serve as Philadelphia’s microwave scorer off the bench, but even he and the second unit will need to figure it all out.
