Angelo State pitcher Dax Dathe signs with Blue Jays

   ​Former Angelo State University baseball pitcher Dax Dathe signed with the Toronto Blue Jays as an undrafted free agent.In Dathe’s two seasons with the Rams he posted an 18-5 record and a 4.00 ERA in 157⅔ innings with 208 strikeouts. He was voted to the 2024 and 2025 All-Lone Star Conference first-team. Following his two seasons with ASU, Dathe used his final year of college eligibility to play for Louisiana State University. He played one season for the Cougars in the 2020 COVID-19 shortened season before transferring to Grayson College where he was named first-team All-Conference utility player in 2022. He then transferred to Texas Tech in 2023 where he appeared in five games before signing with ASU the following year.Dathe’s best season with the Rams came in 2025 when he recorded a 9-1 record with a 2.99 ERA, working 72⅓ innings with 31 walks and 98 strikeouts, while leading the Rams to the South Central Super Regional.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementDathe is the most recent in a line of Rams baseball talent to reach professional baseball, including Kade Bragg and Aaron Munson.
