He entered the league in 2022 as a rookie free agent out of Virginia, signing with the Seattle Seahawks.He has been with the Cardinals since 2023, signing first with the practice squad and then getting signed to the active roster. In three seasons, he has been a special teams ace and was even a team captain a year ago. He has played 45 defensive snaps and 473 on special teams.Last season, he played in only one game. He sustained a concussion in the game and was discovered to have suffered a neck injury as well. He didn’t play again.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementBlount enters the final year of his two-year, $3.75 million contract. He will make a little more than $1.5 million in salary and will count almost $1.8 million against the cap.Blount is hopefully fully recovered from his neck injury. His spot on the roster is not certain. He is one on the roster bubble. With a new special teams coach and players like Kitan Crawford, Andrew Wingard and Isaiah Oliver who are all solid special teams players, Blount will have to prove his worth.
