The Arizona Cardinals will report to training camp on July 22 and begin the regular-season buildup, shaping the roster and sorting out starting jobs and roles across the team. In the weeks leading up to camp, we will review every player on the offseason roster, examining their background, contract details, how they performed in 2025, the questions each player faces, and their outlook for making the team.
Here is tight end Jameson Geers. Geers is a rookie who went undrafted out of Minnesota after a five-year college career. He signed with the Cardinals as a rookie free agent after the draft. Geers stands 6-6 and weighs 250 pounds. During his time at Minnesota, he recorded 58 receptions for 518 yards and nine touchdowns, with the bulk of his production coming in the last two seasons — 498 of his receiving yards and all but four receptions in that stretch.
Geers signed a three-year deal with Arizona, worth just over $3.1 million. He is projected to earn $885,000 in salary in 2026. He received a $15,000 signing bonus and has $110,000 of his salary guaranteed. If he makes the 2026 roster, his cap hit will be $890,000.
The Cardinals currently appear to have three tight ends largely locked into spots: Trey McBride, Tip Reiman, and Elijah Higgins. It is likely they will keep a fourth tight end on the roster, and Geers will be in the mix for that role. He is probably the least likely candidate to secure the fourth spot, though a stint on the practice squad remains a plausible outcome.
