​It was a Larry Fitzgerald weekend, as he was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2026. He made it in his first year of eligibility, which was expected. With that enshrinement, the Cardinals’ Super Bowl team from the 2008 season continues to stack up Hall of Famers. It might be the most special Cardinals team in its history.It was a special season and run into the postseason, and one reason is that the Cardinals had some of the greatest players ever, albeit in different stages of their careers. Cardinals’ Super Bowl team has 3 Hall of FamersWith Fitzgerald’s enshrinement, the 2008 Cardinals team now has three Hall of Famers, joining quarterback Kurt Warner and running back Edgerrin James. Warner was, of course, the protagonist of the run with his comeback story. He was in the final seasons of his career. Fitzgerald was in his prime. James was on the decline. However, his production in the postseason was critical for the offense. It would be his final season with the Cardinals, but they don’t make it to the Super Bowl without him. Fitzgerald had perhaps the greatest postseason run for a receiver in those playoffs, and with his touchdown catch with just over two minutes in the Super Bowl, it looked like the Cardinals would win it. But these aren’t the only three players from that team who could end up with bronze busts in Canton, Ohio. 3 other potential Hall of Famers from 2008 CardinalsDefensive lineman Calais Campbell was a rookie that season. While he has never been considered one of the top-five defensive linemen in the league at any individual point, he is entering his 19th season and has had at least five sacks in his last four seasons. His longevity, his production and the respect he has garnered will eventually land him in the Hall of Fame. He seems like a lock. Receiver Anquan Boldin had a Hall of Fame-caliber career, and so did safety Adrian Wilson. Campbell likely will make it. Boldin might at some point, and Wilson seems like a longshot. In 2008, we didn’t realize it then, but that was perhaps the most special Cardinals team ever.
