Arsenal Women have signed England midfielder Georgia Stanway from Bayern Munich. The 27-year-old leaves behind a four-year spell in the Bundesliga where she lifted eight trophies after leaving Manchester City in 2022. “It’s an unbelievable feeling and I’m so proud to be joining Arsenal,” she said. “This is a massive club that’s driving the women’s game forward to new levels, and I want to be a part of it. I want to win trophies and grow as a player, and this is the right place to do that with the backing of an incredible fanbase.”
Stanway captured the WSL title, three FA Cups, and three League Cups with City before moving to Bavaria. On the international stage, she has scored 33 goals in 93 appearances for England and played a key role in the Lionesses’ historic European Championship wins in 2022 and 2025. Arsenal’s coach Renee Slegers added: “Georgia is a brilliant midfielder, and we’re thrilled she’s an Arsenal player.” He continued, “She will bring a new dimension to our midfield, combining experience with a winning mentality. We’re excited to start pre-season and work toward a big campaign ahead.”
