This morning, Arsenal confirmed via an official club press release that WSL full-time goalkeeper Damm has joined the Gunners. The 18-year-old shot-stopper arrives from Danish top-flight club Brøndby IF, stepping into a new chapter at the Emirates Stadium. Damm first joined the Brøndby academy back in 2001 and has since progressed through the ranks, earning a handful of first-team minutes and catching the eye with her performances in training and matches. Her potential is widely recognized, with many predicting a bright future for her both in domestic competition and on the international stage.
On the international front, Damm has represented Denmark across multiple youth levels, culminating in appearances for the Under-19 squad. Her growing reputation and pedigree in youth international football complemented her club form, underscoring why clubs like Arsenal have shown interest in her development.
Damm’s pathway to Arsenal included a trial with the Gunners during the previous season. Head coach Renée Slegers was sufficiently impressed by what she saw to extend a permanent contract offer, paving the way for Damm to join Arsenal’s ranks at the Emirates Stadium. Reflecting on her move, Damm expressed her pride and readiness: “I’m so proud to be joining Arsenal and I can’t wait to get started. Arsenal is a great club and I’m excited to develop as a player and as a person here, and help the club achieve more success. I’ve had the experience of training here before and I know the environment here is the right one for me to progress.”
With this acquisition, Damm becomes Arsenal’s sixth signing of what is shaping up to be a busy and ambitious summer transfer window. Her arrival adds depth and potential to an already competitive squad, signaling Arsenal’s intent to strengthen across the squad and build for both immediate impact and long-term success. As she integrates into life at the Emirates, supporters will be watching closely to see how she develops and contributes to the club’s objectives in WSL competition and beyond.
