Jurrien Timber is reportedly training in Marbella as he continues his recovery from the groin injury that forced him to withdraw from the World Cup this summer. The Arsenal defender struggled with the issue during the final months of the season and is now said to be working with a personal trainer at the same Marbella facility used by Coventry City as they gear up for their return to the Premier League and their opening match against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
The Marbella venue is a popular choice among professional footballers and other top athletes. Timber has been spotted there this week doing intensive fitness work with one-to-one trainers. The same venue has also hosted free agent Dele Alli, who remains just 30 but has been without a club since the start of September. The latest sightings emerged in a piece about Ross Barkley, 32, who was also seen at the venue and has been linked with a potential move to Coventry.

Barkley still has another year remaining on his Aston Villa contract, but the report suggests he is eager to play regular football, and Frank Lampard is reportedly keen to bring him in. Timber sustained the groin injury against Everton in mid-March, prompting questions about how he was cleared to feature in the Champions League final against PSG. He played 54 minutes, including extra time, in that match.
Since arriving at Arsenal from Ajax in 2023, Timber has missed 78 games for Arsenal and the Netherlands. Of those, 53 were due to the ACL injury he suffered in the first game of his first season with the club. This ongoing injury history, along with several others, has contributed to Arsenal launching a sweeping overhaul of their medical and conditioning staff and practices, aiming to improve fitness management and reduce future absence. For Premier League readers and search engine optimization, this update highlights Timber’s current rehabilitation at a high-performance Marbella facility, his ties to Coventry’s early-season preparations, and the broader context of Arsenal’s renewed focus on medical and conditioning improvements after a challenging spell for the club’s squad availability. The report also underlines the ongoing interest in other high-profile players who have been seen training at the same venue, signaling a busy period of player movement and strategic planning ahead of the new season.
