Atlanta Falcons 2026 Opponent Preview: Week 5 vs. Baltimore Ravens

By admin — In News — July 16, 2026

The Atlanta Falcons are heading in the season hoping to have a whole lot more success than they have experienced for the last decade of failing to make the playoffs, and while no NFL schedule is easy, it does feel pretty manageable.Even so, there are always going to be tough stretches, and the Falcons have an absolutely brutal one right after the first month of the season coming off two straight road primetime games. Right after facing the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on Thursday Night Football then the New Orleans Saints at the Superdome on Monday Night Football, it’s a home stand for Atlanta, but with some tough opponents.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementNotably, it will also be the third straight primetime game they are playing in.While Baltimore did not make the playoffs this past season and are beginning the year with a new coach of their own in Jesse Minter, this team is always going to be a threat especially with Lamar Jackson at quarterback. Minter should be able to restore a great defense to the Ravens which makes them even more dangerous and an early threat on the schedule for Atlanta.Having the game at home and away from the elements as opposed to a late season trip to Baltimore is a huge plus, but a potent Ravens attack led by Jackson, Derrick Henry, Zay Flowers and Mark Andrews will likely benefit as well.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe most unique aspect of the game by far though is the fact it will be the third straight game under the lights for the Falcons, something which is extremely rare for any team let alone one that has not been to the playoffs in so long.Because of this, narratives — either positive or negative — will start to fly around the media by the time this game kicks off and after it concludes. Kevin Stefanski is going to be put to the test right away, and he is going to be doing it in front of a national audience for three straight games. At the end of the day, this should not matter much for what the actual result of the game is, but it will impact how and how much people are talking about this team early in the season. Perhaps the Falcons can use that to their advantage and show the rest of the league this is a whole new franchise.
