The Argentina forward did not play in Atlético’s 3-0 win away to Real Sociedad on Sunday.Marca reports that Alvarez is focused on recovering in time for Sunday’s derby against Real Madrid. He has picked up one assist in three appearances totaling 147 minutes this season.Pablo Barrios (calf injury) and Alexander Sørloth (calf injury) have been left out of Diego Simeone’s squad to face Osasuna, which enters this match having lost consecutive fixtures. Barrios is not expected to return to action until the end of the FIFA break next month, while Sørloth has not played at all this season and is considered doubtful to do so against Real Madrid, though his inclusion in the squad can’t be completely ruled out yet.Otherwise, everyone else is available. Simeone has called up defender Jorge Domínguez and midfielder Jorge Castillo from Atlético Madrileño to complete the squad. Domínguez already has debuted in LaLiga; he started and played 45 minutes of the season-opening win over Málaga last month.Simeone is expected to rotate on Wednesday, and the coach could hand starts to Jonathan David and Arnau Ortiz amid the early-season fixture pileup. Atlético are coming off a stretch of four consecutive games away from its Metropolitano fortress; the Colchoneros defeated Sevilla and La Real but suffered defeats to Liverpool and Athletic Club on their travels.Atlético have won 18 of 21 meetings with Osasuna since 2012, including nine out of 10 meetings held in the Riyadh Air Metropolitano or in the old Vicente Calderón.
