Austin Cindric’s future with Team Penske is under scrutiny. As one of NASCAR’s top drivers in the standings but with uncertain prospects, Cindric could be fighting to keep the No. 2 ride. But would Penske actually consider a different direction going forward?
Motorsports Wire projects that Cindric will remain in the No. 2 car for Penske in the NASCAR Cup Series. Despite a downturn for the organization, Cindric currently holds a Chase-position and sits ahead of Joey Logano in points, a trend that has persisted through much of the 2026 season.
Although the No. 2 seat at Penske would be highly coveted, Cindric’s position should not be jeopardized by a single rough year tied to Ford. Yet the outlook becomes more uncertain with Logano and Ryan Blaney’s storied success behind him. For now, Cindric appears secure, but continuity beyond 2026 remains in question.
