Barcelona set firm €50 million asking price for PSG target as talks progress

According to SPORT, FC Barcelona are prepared to take a firm stance should PSG intensify their pursuit of Ferran Torres. While the Catalan club continues to monitor the advanced talks between the Spanish forward and the French champions, they have no intention of letting him leave at a bargain price. The club will not obstruct the player’s decision to move if that is his choice, but they remain determined to secure a transfer fee that truly reflects his value. The report makes the club’s position crystal clear: Ferran’s valuation stands at €50 million, and Barcelona do not plan to drop that asking price. The Blaugrana believe the figure is affordable for PSG.
French sources have recently suggested that Paris Saint-Germain could reach around €45 million, including bonuses, but Barça expect an improved bid before any deal can be finalized. Ferran’s contract with Barcelona runs through 2027, and the club has long avoided starting a season with players entering the final year of their contracts. Barcelona has set a steep asking price for Ferran, underscoring their stance that he is not available on the cheap. Although renewal talks have begun, they remain tentative. If Ferran ultimately opts for PSG, Barcelona would be willing to negotiate, but only under favorable financial terms that align with their €50 million valuation.
Barcelona anticipated the possibility of losing a key player during the transfer window. Early speculation focused on Raphinha, but attention has since shifted to Ferran Torres. While the striker has delivered solid performances, he has not enjoyed the level of prominence he might have expected. With only one year remaining on his contract, PSG’s interest has intensified, prompting a strategic shift. The reigning European champions have identified Ferran as a priority as they recalibrate their attacking options.
Following Gonçalo Ramos’ move to AC Milan and with Randal Kolo Muani expected to depart, Luis Enrique has called for a versatile center-forward. Could Ferran Torres reunite with his former Barcelona coach? The PSG boss knows Ferran well, values his abilities, and views him as a strong market opportunity. Everything now hinges on Ferran agreeing personal terms with PSG and formally informing Barcelona of his desire to leave. Once that formal step is taken, negotiations between PSG and Barcelona are expected to accelerate rapidly. A successful sale would also provide Barcelona with a substantial financial boost during the transfer window.
For Barcelona, the priority remains generating income through player sales. The club also has Roony Bardghji and Marc Casado available on the market, though neither departure would yield a transfer fee comparable to Ferran’s. As the transfer saga unfolds, the Catalan giants are focused on safeguarding their financial interests while exploring every viable avenue to maximize value from Ferran Torres, should PSG press ahead with a bid that meets or exceeds their €50 million threshold.
