Bayern Munich are eyeing a move for Juventus centre-back Gleison Bremer during the upcoming summer transfer window. The Bavarian club has already added Nathaniel Brown and Ismael Saibari to their ranks, but further arrivals appear contingent on their ability to offload a few players first. The Brazilian defender is contracted to Juventus until 2029 and could represent a compelling addition for Germany’s dominant side. Bremer spent four seasons with Torino, tallying 110 appearances before joining Juventus in the summer of 2022. Since then, he has featured 122 times across all competitions for the Old Lady, contributing 12 goals, and Bayern have kept a close watch on his development for several years.
To sanction another signing, Bayern would likely need to free up space by selling either Kim Min-jae or Hiroki Ito. Juventus are reportedly interested in Kim, although the Korean defender is said to be content at Bayern under manager Vincent Kompany and prepared to contest his place in the squad. Christian Falk has told CFBayern Insider that Gleison Bremer could be a viable option for Bayern, with the possibility of a swap deal involving Min-jae Kim on the table. Falk explained: “It is TRUE: Gleison Bremer is also on Bayern’s shortlist. Not just this summer, but for several years. Min-jae Kim, however, is still at the club. It’s an interesting situation, as Juventus are keen on Kim, and Bremer could be an option for Bayern Munich. So there could be an idea of a swap deal. But I heard that there’s nothing concrete; there are no talks with Kim at the moment. So, as long as Juventus doesn’t make a move for Kim, Bayern won’t move for Bremer.”
Min-jae Kim enjoyed ample opportunities last season as Kompany rotated his squad to maintain harmony within the dressing room. Dayot Upamecano and Jonathan Tah remain Kompany’s preferred first-choice centre-back pairing, but Ito and Min-jae frequently appeared in both the Bundesliga and the Champions League. Bayern are not actively seeking to push Min-jae out, but they could entertain offers for the South Korean if a suitable bid emerges. Everything currently hinges on Juventus. If they approach with an acceptable offer for Min-jae, Bayern could respond by pursuing Bremer as part of a potential swap arrangement.
Meanwhile, Kim Min-jae continues to attract attention from Premier League clubs Manchester United and Chelsea, though Bayern have not yet received any concrete offers for him.Nonetheless, Bayern are unlikely to let Min-jae depart on the cheap, which has tempered progress in their Bremer pursuit to date. As the summer window progresses, all eyes will be on Juventus and their response to any interest in Min-jae, which could drastically influence Bayern’s potential to bring Bremer to Munich.
