Bella Mir looks set to pace herself for a hectic stretch in the coming months. The daughter of former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir and a standout young talent in combat sports, Mir has built an undefeated MMA record while also competing at a high level in wrestling and pursuing opportunities in UFC BJJ. With the next season of Dana White’s Contender Series approaching, industry chatter has intensified that Mir may step into action this summer.
On the red carpet before the 17th Annual World MMA Awards, Mir acknowledged that talks are underway about her potential involvement in the Contender Series. “Yes, yes there is,” Mir told MMA Fighting. “I’m just excited to get it going. Hopefully I can get something [announced] soon, but there’s discussions going on. Most likely [I’ll be competing]. Yeah.” Her current trajectory in wrestling adds an extra layer of possibility, as Mir continues to perform at a high level across multiple combat sports disciplines.
Mir’s versatility is underscored by her near-term wrestling ambitions, including a shot at the U.S. team for World Championships. She has a finals matchup in the works against Olympic silver medalist Kennedy Blaydes in the near future, which could influence the routes she pursues in mixed martial arts. If she earns a UFC contract from Dana White and the UFC matchmakers this summer, Mir says the plan will unfold as intended.
“This was always the plan,” Mir explained. “I think my plan is just always taking every opportunity thrown at me [whether] it happens to be MMA or wrestling or whatever it is. This actually is like perfectly timed for me because I made the U23 World Team for wrestling and that’s for the end of October, so I’ll have just [enough] amount of time to train after and get ready for that. And obviously also train for Final X because Kennedy [Blaydes] pulled out due to injury. So I also have that going on and then hopefully UFC BJJ title fight coming too. So, yeah, I’m always busy.”
Mir hasn’t fought in MMA for roughly a year, having secured a first-round submission victory for Fury FC in her most recent bout. Despite her ongoing schedule, she remains a compelling candidate for a return to competition on an upcoming RAF card, with conversations circulating about a potential appearance on a 2026 event. When asked about that possibility, Mir indicated optimism about joining an RAF card in the near future. “I think, hopefully — can’t say yet — but hopefully I can be on one of their cards soon,” she said. “I hope I can make that official coming up.”
As Mir navigates multiple high-profile commitments—U.S. wrestling pathways, a potential UFC stint, and UFC BJJ ambitions—she continues to project the image of a multi-talented athlete who thrives on staying busy. The 23-year-old prospect remains focused on pursuing opportunities wherever they arise, with strong intent to act on those opportunities when they materialize. For fans and supporters, the outlook is clear: Bella Mir is poised for a busy, impactful run across MMA, wrestling, and adaptive grappling circuits, with an eye toward a summer Contender Series appearance, possible UFC engagement, and further titles on the horizon.
