The Buffalo Bills recently announced an updated schedule for their upcoming training camp, revealing seven open practice dates initially planned for this summer and adding a couple more to the lineup on Wednesday. Notably, none of these sessions will be held at St. John Fisher University. Instead, both practices will take place at the franchise’s new home stadium in Buffalo, marking the first time the Bills will practice there ahead of its inaugural season as the team’s official home field.
The highlight of the preseason schedule at the new venue is the Return of the Blue & Red practice, set for Saturday, August 8, at 7 p.m. Eastern Time. This public session will be the team’s first on the field at Highmark Stadium, signaling a new era for Bills fans who will soon watch their squad practice and prepare in a state-of-the-art environment within the city.
A second practice at the new stadium is scheduled for August 18, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time. This session will come three days after Buffalo hosts the Carolina Panthers in what will be the Bills’ first preseason contest inside the new facility. The atmosphere is expected to be electric as fans get their first glimpse of the team operating under the same roof that will host regular-season action.
Beyond these two open sessions at Highmark Stadium, the Bills will also be preparing for their regular-season debut in the home venue. The first regular-season contest at home is slated for Thursday night, a prime-time matchup against the Detroit Lions in Week 2. This game will mark a significant milestone for the franchise, as it moves into a modern stadium designed to enhance fan experience, team performance, and the overall atmosphere at Bills games in Buffalo.
The move to the new stadium represents a major milestone for the organization, offering an opportunity to showcase enhanced facilities, improved sightlines, and a more intimate setting for fans in attendance. As training camp unfolds, fans and followers will be watching closely to see how the team integrates its summer preparations with the transition to the new home field, including how the practice sessions at Highmark Stadium influence on-field chemistry and readiness for the upcoming season.
With the updated schedule now public, supporters can plan their attendance around the August 8 and August 18 practices, as well as the Panthers preseason game and the Lions Week 2 showdown. The Bills have positioned themselves to maximize fan engagement during this transitional period, delivering memorable experiences at the new stadium while also signaling a strong start to a new chapter in Buffalo football. As the team prepares for the summer’s activities and the ongoing build-out of Highmark Stadium, anticipation continues to build for the 2024 season and what promises to be an exciting era for Bills faithful.
