According to Rodgers, Wilson made a mistake, leading to the ball ending up in the hands of cornerback Asante Samuel Jr.“Roman made a repeat mistake,” Rodgers told reporters. “You know, that’s a good learning experience, ’cause I don’t think he’s going to do that again. But he did the same thing early in training camp, and we said, ‘Hey, on that under route, you gotta keep coming.’“I think it’s the best thing that happened in practice. Roman is a great kid, he’s had a fantastic camp. I have the utmost confidence in him. You know, he’s gonna have to play a big role for us, but mistakes are gonna happen. That’s a great one to happen in practice.”Social media was flooded with reactions to Rodgers’ comments.“Death, Taxes and this dude blaming someone else for a mistake….,” a fan wrote. The Steelers drafted Roman Wilson with the No. 84 pick in 2024. However, he played in just one game due to injuries and was placed on injured reserve in October 2024. Last season, he played 13 games (four starts) and posted 166 yards on 12 receptions and two touchdowns.Wilson has struggled this preseason, managing just 23 yards and contributing to two interceptions.Aaron Rodgers shares his thoughts on the Steelers retaining four quarterbacksThe Pittsburgh Steelers have four quarterbacks on their 53-man roster: Aaron Rodgers, Drew Allar, Mason Rudolph and Will Howard.During Wednesday’s press conference, Rodgers shared his thoughts on this decision.“I mean, I was thinking it was a possibility. I don’t think I’ve been on a roster with four quarterbacks,” Rodgers said. “Obviously, when you do that, you’re taking away another spot from a place on the team. But, at the same time, if the best 53 are going to make it, and not saying they did, I think those four are part of the best 53.“I’m happy for all those guys. Obviously, looking to the future, those other three guys are going to have a chance when I’m gone. And with the growth you saw with Will [Howard] and obviously with Drew [Allar] being drafted so high, but also playing well in camp. I’m not surprised at all, and I’m excited about those guys’ futures.”Last season, Rodgers helped the Steelers make the playoffs as the AFC North champions. However, the Texans eliminated them in the wild-card round. Also Read:Analyst Points to $16,000,000-Worth Star as Main Reason Behind Holding Texans Back from Super Bowl Hype“All Respect Lost for This List”: Fans Erupt as Matthew Stafford Lands No. 4 Spot in NFL Top 100 Players of 2026 RankingsCollege Sports Network has you covered with the latest news, analysis, insights, and trending stories in college football, men’s college basketball, women’s college basketball, and college baseball!
